All eight high schools held graduation ceremonies at Simon Fraser University on top of 91×ÊÔ´È«¼¯ Mountain. Grade 12 students walked through the picturesque setting to join the awaiting crowd. Diplomas were presented to each graduate, with the traditional toss of their grad caps at the end of each ceremony.
Grade 12s also enjoyed several events in their final year of public school, culminating in a celebration that included a dinner and dance with their peers.
An additional ceremony was held for Indigenous graduates and their families. The Honouring Our Youth ceremony follows local protocol through the generosity of Elders and Knowledge Keepers.
All of the District’s Valedictorians are featured in a special section of the 91×ÊÔ´È«¼¯ Now, with photos and speech excerpts. As they ended their public school experience in anticipation, reflection, and celebration, they shared their words of wisdom with the wider community.
